In this article, I am not just going to tell you only the good side of the Hostinger but I am going to tell you the cons about Hostinger too. I am going to share with you my four years of experience in the websites and apps industry and give you an honest review of Hostinger.

Introduction:

Now Hostinger not only is affordable, but it is also a very good, secure, and very efficient web hosting service. Especially for those of you that are just starting out. I am using Hostinger since 2019. And I have hosted seven different running websites on Hostinger. And I am going to share with you all my experiences and ups–downs with Hostinger to you.

Alright, so we’re going to be talking about the features, performance, support, pricing, the good, the bad. So stick around to just get a good idea of what this service is about.

Good Things About Hostinger:

1. Control Panel:

Now, starting with the panel, which is probably one of the most distinctive features of Hostinger. Now the h-panel obviously is very easy to navigate as you can see here.

Like most other web hosting services, a custom panel that makes life easier is something that most providers are kind of leaning towards right now, but what makes Hostinger special is their privacy and permission dashboard, which can be accessed right here.

So if you click account sharing you will be able to Actually give the ability to generate separate login information and control which service your employee or your friend will be able to manage on your account.

2. Authentication;

This is great if you need someone help managing your website without giving them complete control or authority over your account, or if you simply just want your client to have access to their own account and only their account without exposing your private information and that kind of security is perfect especially when coupled with two-factor authentication and email authentication. So security-wise Hostinger is top-notch.

Extra Cool features:

Now before I talk about the performance of Hostinger just want to point out a few things really cool features in the H panel right of Hostinger, the order usage you’re able to show plan resource usage in real-time, so that can be very helpful to keep track of everything.

You also have an auto-installer and this will do automated work like automatically generating WordPress websites with a single click.

Another really cool thing is the File Manager and you have a bunch of options. The File Manager is really good when it comes to file and database management. And of course, there are just so many features here.

Such as website migrations, Cloudflare, Free SSL, and whatnot. So in terms of features, you are getting so much with Hostinger for the price you’re paying and it’s really difficult to get all these features with other web hosting services. Especially when you factor in the pricing of hosting or being quite cheap, but we’ll get into that later on.

2. PHP Version:

OK. Now with regards to the speed, you have PHP 8.0 which performs 10% better than its predecessors. And all you need to do is just go to the H panel, open your hosting account dashboard under the advanced section, click PHP configuration and you will be able to upgrade it right here just click update and you should be good to go.

Later on, if any other PHP version will come you can also update to that version very easily with Hostinger h-panel very easily.

3. Uptime:

OK, so before getting into the good and the bad, just wanna show you guys the uptime. It is really important for many people and while hosting or does promise 99.9% uptime, it does have its problems here in there. And as you can tell the past year, OK, so. That’ll be from January 2021 to the 31st of December 2021. It was a 99.97% uptime, so that is a total downtime of two hours and 14 minutes and six outages now.

Obviously this is not a five star kind of uptime. No, neither is it a one star kind of uptime. It’s really in the middle. Maybe I would give it not two stars and a half probably give it three stars. So yeah, with regards to uptime, there are ups and downs, but 99.97% is not the best in the industry, but it is still pretty good. There are some hiccups with the uptime. OK. And we’ll get into that in just a little bit.

4. Load-time:

So I want to talk about the load Times. Now it’s no secret that the loading times for your site are very important. If a visitor comes to your website and has to wait for things to load, they won’t stick around. In fact, many people aren’t willing to wait for more than a couple of seconds for a site. And this is why I love Hostinger because it provides quick hosting speeds besides the hiccups with the uptime, the speed itself, the loading speed for your website is going to be super quick which averages around 470 Milliseconds, give or take, depending on what plan you’re getting and what kind of website you’re running.

 

And you know if you’re running a really heavy website, let’s say, and there are lots of things on your lots of products, lots of videos, lots of lots of lots of stuff. To load really, they’re just a huge load on your website. You don’t wanna go with a Beginner plan, you want to go with something like a premium or business plan. Otherwise, if you’re gonna have a rough time loading your site, OK, so just keep that in mind.

5. Affordability:

Another great thing about Hostinger is obviously the affordability and all the benefits that you get with even the very cheap single shared hosting plan. You’re still getting 30 gigabytes of SSD, you’re getting a 10,000 visits monthly. You’re getting one email account, you’re getting free SSL, you don’t get a domain. Which is understandable.

That’s reserved for more premium plans, which is the most popular plan. But yeah, keep that in mind that even with the single shared hosting plan, you are getting a ton of things and features and just all kinds of things that really help you out especially if you are a beginner.

6. Money-Back Guaranty:

Now, another cool thing is that you do get a money-back guarantee. If you’re not happy with the hosting which you purchase, no problem. You have 30 days to try it out and get your money back. If your experience is not good at all what you were hoping for. However, be sure to note that the Redemption fees, domain name renewals, and privacy protection are the only things that are not part of the 30-day money-back guarantee. So keep that at the back of your head. Otherwise, the hosting domain transfers and SSL certificates are all refundable within 30 days. Which is great.

7. Free Website Builder:

You also get a free domain as I mentioned earlier and another cool thing is that you get a free website builder and that will be ZYRO. It is an easy-to-use builder and it’s great for whipping up a company website. But you can also build out a fully functional online store with it, as well and you can start with one of over 100 templates or drag and drop your way to a beautiful home on the web front scratch.

Either way, you get a site builder for free with Hostinger that doesn’t make you sacrifice any customization, capabilities and it’s super easy to use. And of course one of the biggest places here is that it’s just simple to get around.

Ease of using:

As I can tell, the h-panel is very easy to read, very easy on the eyes, and there’s just nothing complicated about using Hostinger. You know you can get familiar with the user interface in just little to no time.

Bad Things About Hostinger:

Now are some of the bad things you need to know before you start your journey with Hostinger.

1. Phone Support:

I noticed is that there’s no phone support. Sometimes you need a real human on the phone to get help with a problem, and unfortunately, Hostinger does not offer that option. And the only way to get in touch with customer support is via live chat, which is good, but it isn’t the same as a phone call, especially if you’re new to web hosting. I personally think Hostinger must give users phone support. What do you think about it?? Give your valuable opinion in the comment section.

2. Spotty Uptime:

Now again, another bad thing is that just spotty uptime on shared and WordPress hosting. Hostinger’s lower octane plans haven’t performed too well compared to their peers, and as you can tell here, I showed you guys that last year there were two years two hours and 14 minutes of downtime, which is not a lot, but it is quite a bit.

Because you don’t want your website to be down for more than that. Honestly, two hours is already even one hours already are just quite a bit. Fortunately though, I have seen improvements when testing their burlier hosting offerings. HOSTINGER’S Virtual private server hosting turned in only 17 seconds of total downtime when tested in late 2021, and another gripe of mine when it comes to the features that you get with the budget plans.

3. Issue for beginner plan:

So if you want to stick to the single budget. These single shared hosting plan here you will notice some missing features. Now you do get a lot of features, but if you don’t go for the premium or business, you’re going to be missing some of them.

While it’s not really a deal breaker for everyone, there are some helpful features missing from Hostinger’s entry level plans. That I’ve seen on comparable ones from their competitors. The most notable case is with their WordPress hosting, which doesn’t include a Content Delivery Network or CDN and an automatic daily backup on the two cheaper plans with these single plan.

Note:

But it is not necessary or all. If you are beginner then it will not a problem at all. If you want to start your e-commerce site then you should site with premium plans. If you are content writer then you can start your journey with single plan and then as your site grows you can upgrade it to the premium plan as simple as that.

4. Free Domain:

And I think another downside is that for example, as you can tell, the daily backups are not available for these single plan, but it’s only available for the business plan. The single plan does not get a free domain registration and other features such as email accounts, so you’re only going to get one. Email account with a single plan and then you’ll get a hundred with the others. And besides that, you don’t get SSH access. But yeah, that’s pretty much it when it comes to the downsides of web hosting, these web hosting plans with hosting are so yeah.

My Opinion:

Overall, Hostinger is one of the most versatile hosting providers and has options no matter how big or small your website, and no matter what type of website you are looking to build, though the uptime speed has dropped a bit and isn’t as consistent as I’d like it to be.

The site load is very quick and the other pros seem to out weigh a few cons. Just be ready for some potential site downtime, although not really not always. Overall, I highly recommend this hosting service to get your website up and running and scale it along the way.

Especially that there are so many plugins that you can get with Hostinger to help you with building up your website, especially the free website builder which is just great. OK, now Hostinger is just great for those of you that are both new and seasoned in building up a website. And it has strong support to help you along the way. So yeah, that’ll be it for my review with Hostinger here. From my experience, Hostinger is like 88 out of 100. I am quite satisfied with its service.
